Anne-Marie Lenton
Anne-Marie, a British native, brings almost 40 years of US government, real estate, master planned development and consulting experience to the Citizens for a Scenic Florida board. She currently serves as Division Director for Hillsborough County Government’s Facilities Management and Real Estate Services directing the County’s real estate needs for supporting Emergency Management Office’s response to hurricane and emergency preparedness, all acquisitions and dispositions for Fire Rescue, Parks and Recreation, Library Services, Public Works and Public Utilities (Stormwater, Transportation), Social Services, and Conservation and Environmental Lands Management. Through the County’s Jan K. Platt Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program (ELAPP) Anne-Marie’s team has helped to grow ELAPP into the largest local preservation program in the state of Florida with more than 63,400 acres of environmentally sensitive wildlife habitat and corridors acquired.
Prior to working for Hillsborough County, Anne-Marie worked with some of the country’s largest privately owned master planned community developers including Newland Real Estate Group, EBSCO Industries and locally in Tampa, Better Place Group. The extraordinary common denominator with these developers, and the reason Anne-Marie happily worked with them, was their insistence on place-making, their attention to detail and sustainability, the undergrounding of utilities and the predominance of green spaces and conservation lands within their communities.
Anne-Marie is also Founder and CEO of Better Place Group, a management consulting firm focused on professional and organizational development for a broad range of industries including real estate development, healthcare, education, and sustainability training.
Anne-Marie has a Master of Science in Management, Leadership, Sustainability and Organizational Efficiency from the University of South Florida, resides in Tampa and goes to her little villa in Italy whenever possible!
