Marion B. Hilliard
Mrs. Hilliard currently serves on the Florida Highway Beautification Council (appointed by the Governor), has chaired the Civic and Roadside Beautification Council of the Garden Club of Orange Park since 1981, serves as the Government/Agency Liaison for the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. and as Legislative Chairman, District IV, FFCG (8 NE Florida counties), ex-officio member of the I-75 Corridor Beautification Council and member of the I-75 Task Force.
After holding many local and state leadership positions, she became the 35th President of Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (1995-1997).
Mrs. Hilliard served as chairman of the Roadside Council/Billboard Legislation for the Deep South Region (1987-1989), FFGC Roadside Beautification Chairman (1989-1991) and Civic (Beautification) Development Chairman, National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc. (NCSGC).
Mrs. Hilliard holds Life Memberships in FFGC and NCSGC and was elected to the FFGC Hall of Fame in 1993, and is a member of the Florida and National Associations of Parliamentarians. She was the recipient of the Keep Florida Beautiful 1998 Hazel Simmons Hodges Highway Beautification Award; 1992 Florida Wildlife Federation Special Conservation Award; 1997 Appreciation Plaque from the Environmental Management Office, Florida Department of Transportation; 1988 Community Service Award, Garden Club of Orange Park; 1986 Environmental Award of the Year, Clay County Board of County Commissioners; 1981 Leadership Award, FFGC.
Mrs. Hilliard is an activist for numerous state and national environmental and conservation organizations, served on a number of agency task forces and citizen advisory councils and has been a member of 1000 Friends of Florida since its inception.
