Ken Sides is a Professional Engineer licensed by the State of Florida who has spent much of his career as project manager for modern roundabouts and Complete Street projects intended to improve the safety and livability of intersections and streets for both motorized and non-motorized users of all ages.  For all those projects he has included a landscape architect on his teams to ensure the aesthetic aspect is enhanced, as well.  In the case of modern roundabouts there is opportunity for installation of public artworks, as well, both at the time of construction or later.

Mr. Sides is a long-standing member of the Transportation Research Board Roundabout Committee and the Institute of Transportation Engineers Roundabout Committee.  He has given numerous presentations and webinars to engineers and planners and often urges his audiences to include artworks and landscaping in their projects.

Mr. Sides is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, National Highway Institute Certified Instructor, an accredited member of the Congress of New Urbanism, a certified bicycle safety instructor (LCI), and a certified bicycle Road Leader / Road Master (RLRM).
